How to raise your websites rankings in Google

Everyone always wants to know how to get your website high in search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing. In this article I will be posting some beginners steps to get you started on learning SEO.

The most important thing to take into consideration is to not spam your websites link or your website with irrelevant content, this might get you fast website views but will not help you at all in the long run and will actually hurt your rankings in Google.

This list will be in order of the most important things to take into consideration for SEO.

1.) Unique Content – Make sure your website is filled with unique content (meaning not copying and pasting text from other websites onto yours), while also making sure that it is focused on your website niche.

2.) Back Links – Back links are very important, not just for SEO but also for traffic. When building back links make sure the links are on websites that are related to yours, you don’t want to post your link on random websites (Google considers these spam links and it will actually hurt your rankings).

3.) Titles – Make sure your website has appropriate titles on each page so Google knows what the page is going to be about.

4.) Fast Loading – Make sure your website is fast when visitors go to it, Google checks this and it does hurt your rankings if your website is slow believe it or not. Not only that, but if someone comes to your website and it loads slow they will most likely not come back.

5.) URLs – Make sure your URL is relevant to the pages content say if your page is about shared web hosting you would want your title to be url.com/shared-web-hosting not url.com/somerandomlettersandnumbers.

These are just 5 simple steps that can help you out a lot when researching and doing SEO, make sure not to get yourself caught up in Page Rank also. Page Rank is not a huge factor in SEO like it used to be, so don’t worry to much about that worry more about the content on your website.
